About CompactEquipmentHub
CompactEquipmentHub is the buyer's database of compact equipment: the mini excavators, mini skid steers, loaders and dumpers that homeowners, farms and small contractors buy, and the brands that sell them.
Why it exists
A new class of compact equipment has reached buyers who never bought a machine before. Dozens of brands now sell 1- to 4-ton excavators, stand-on skid steers and tracked dumpers online, many of them built in China and shipped from US warehouses, at a fraction of the price of the established names. Each brand writes its specifications its own way, in tons in one listing and pounds in the next; every listing says "EPA certified"; and warranty, parts and returns differ widely from one brand to the next. Buyers end up comparing in forum threads.
CompactEquipmentHub puts it in one place: each machine's specifications on the same scale, its price at the brand's own store, its engine checked against EPA's certification records, and the brand's support terms beside the rest.
Our standards
- The brand as it sells. Each machine is listed under the brand it is sold as, with the specifications that brand publishes.
- Comparable figures. Weights, depths, widths, power and flow in US units with metric alongside, for every brand.
- Checked certificates. An engine certificate is shown as verified only when we find it in EPA's records; otherwise it is shown as the brand's statement.
- Sources on every page. Each fact links to the page it comes from, with the date it was read.
- Independence. Brands cannot pay to change facts or the order of comparisons.
